NIN - Rehearsal - Photo by Rob Sheridan

First there was this new album announcement on Nine Inch Nail‘s Tumblr page last week:

“I’ve been less than honest about what I’ve really been up to lately. For the last year I’ve been secretly working non-stop with Atticus Ross and Alan Moulder on a new, full-length Nine Inch Nails record, which I am happy to say is finished and frankly fucking great. This is the real impetus and motivation behind the decision to assemble a new band and tour again. My forays into film, HTDA and other projects really stimulated me creatively and I decided to focus that energy on taking Nine Inch Nails to a new place. Here we go!”
— Trent Reznor, 5.28.13.

NIN - Hesitation Marks

Then came the release of the first single “Came Back Haunted” :

And now Nine Inch Nails announces a North American arena tour in support of Hesitation Marks. The band’s calling this new arena show Tension.

According to NIN mastermind Trent Reznor, Tension will pick up where the band’s 2008 Lights in the Sky tour left off, adding , “This is the full-on NIN live experience realized as we never could before.”

The tour kicks off in St. Paul, MN in late September and runs through late November. Reznor will perform alongside Adrian Belew (King Crimson) and Josh Eustis (Telefon Tel Aviv), along with previous NIN collaborators Robin Finck, Alessandro Cortini and Ilan Rubin.

Opening for Nine Inch Nails on this North American tour will be Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Explosions in the Sky.
