In 2014, Every Time I Die released my favorite album of that year, From Parts Unknown. The follow-up has a lot to live up to. Fortunately, it’s recorded and almost ready to go.
Two years ago, I was lucky enough to speak to Keith Buckley (vocals) about that album. This year, I had the pleasure of speaking to his brother Jordan (guitars) about the upcoming Low Teens. He was a bit breathless having just gotten off the stage performing a set and due to a communication error somewhere, instead of being at their tent for a signing, he had to bolt across the entire festival to make it to our humble press tent. Fortunately, I was able to see their entire set and talk to him, so I got the best of both worlds.
We dove into roughly what to expect from Low Teens, why their rationale for being on Warped tour this year was largely thwarted by the demand for vinyl, the album cover which apparently a little bit of a point of debate, how Jordan managed to land the gig of doing the art for the entire tour, how fatherhood has complicated the band, guest vocalists, bonus tracks and so much more.
If Low Teens is anywhere near the quality of From Parts Unknown, then we can expect another album of the year contender.
