Imaginary Enemy is the band’s sixth studio full-length, following the success of 2012’s Vulnerable, which debuted at #8 on the Billboard Top 200 charts, selling 32,000 copies in its first week alone and marking the group’s fourth top 10 album. A band that has never shied away from using their music as a platform to ask the tough questions and evoke political conversation, The Used brings that passion tenfold on Imaginary Enemy. A palpable sense of the band’s commitment, frustration, and optimism for the future lies at the very core of each track.

“We the people, in order to form a more perfect planet, must question the way the world works – and where the world is heading,” says The Used frontman, Bert McCracken, in a statement about the new album. He continues, “Some view art as a way of escaping reality; others view art as a mirror reflecting our sometimes sad society; we believe art can be a weapon, used to shape the very world we live in. The Used is proud to present to you, ‘Imaginary Enemy’.”

Produced by the acclaimed John Feldmann, who has championed The Used the since their very inception in 2001, Imaginary Enemy, puts The Used’s political frustrations and commitment to social change at its forefront. The album opens with “Revolution,” where McCracken urges, “So from now on I pledge allegiance/ To a world that’s so much different / Where no one suffers, everyone is free / Revolution starts with me.” This passionate optimism lies at the core of Imaginary Enemy.

The band proved their unwavering staying power with the recent radio success of their new single, “Cry” on Sirius XM’s Faction, Octane and Sixx Sense channels. The radio success echoes fan’s high demand to catch The Used on the road, as tickets for their upcoming co-headlining tour with Taking Back Sunday have been rapidly selling out, causing the band to add a second show at Los Angeles’s Palladium, as well as two additional shows at New York City’s Best Buy Theater. In addition to selling out their two dates in Los Angeles and Salt Lake City, as well as three dates in New York, the tour completely sold out for dates in San Antonio, San Francisco, Denver, San Diego, Phoenix, Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, Hartford, Boston, Philadelphia, Silver Spring, Ft. Lauderdale and Orlando. The band kicked off the tour on March 14th in Dallas, TX and will be on the road through April 27th, where they end the tour in Orlando, FL.
