Whether it’s comedy, science fiction/addiction drama or terrible action, any and all of these moods can be satisfied by the offerings that arrive on DVD July 19th.
- Limitless – Bradley Cooper is still riding high on ‘The Hangover.’ Here, he plays a downtrodden writer (a redundant statement if ever there was one) named Eddie who partakes in an experimental drug. As advertised, it allows the human brain to function at 100% of its potential. Eddie is able to complete his novel, but he also becomes fabulously wealthy from trading stocks. He is able to achieve everything he could possibly imagine and life is good for awhile. There are dark forces who are lurking in the shadows though, and the addictive nature of the drug makes for some trouble on the horizon. Robert De Niro also stars.
- Take Me Home Tonight – If a modern movie tries to be retro, is it actually retro? No, no it is not. That doesn’t stop this movie which stars Topher Grace, Anna Faris, Dan Fogler and Teresa Palmer. Matt (Grace) graduates from M.I.T. and works at a video store to bide his time. He is also in love with Tori (Palmer) and their lives converge at an eventful party one night. Sit back and enjoy watching some thirty-somethings pretend to be a full decade younger than they actually are!
- Tekken – Movies based on video games rarely go well, so why should this be any different? Perhaps more to the point, why make a movie about a video game franchise that hasn’t been relevant for quite some time now? Giving a plot to a plot-less fighting game almost always produces unintended laughs.
All of these films are available to rent/purchase in Allentown, the Lehigh Valley, and beyond.
