Neostar Media

Neostar Media was originally known as “Neo-Star Promotions” in the summer of 1998. At that time, the company consisted of a group of friends who worked as a street team for various national acts. After gaining experience, they began helping local bands promote their shows and releases. Neostar Media has since worked with several major record labels, including Immortal Records, Sony Music, and Octone Records, to assist with artist development.

As time wore on, we realized that physical media advertising was starting to grow outdated so we moved onto digital media. I reorganized the site in October 2010 as a place to archive the interviews me and my friends have done for wxlv 90.3fm. We figured there would be an audience that might want to hear some of them but might have missed it at the time of the broadcast. So far we’ve interviewed bands such as The Polar Bear Club, The Chariot, Against Me!, Terrible Things, Less Than Jake, Motionless In White, David Bazan, Title Fight, Anti-Flag, The Bouncing Souls, The Melvins, The Deftones and many others that you can find by checking the Interviews section.

In February 2011 we decided to get a little more serious and move away from being just an archive site for interviews. We began to write reviews, news stories, features on topics such as the music industry or relationships in bands and do interviews with people involved in those topics. Since then we have probably written hundreds of articles ranging from short opinions to long features.

I have observed a developing underground music scene in and around the Lehigh Valley that resembles the LVHC movement. At basement shows, many young people have mentioned that some of these bands have potential but lack representation. The Lehigh Valley and surrounding regions have a lot going on, so we want to be musically relevant both locally and beyond.

We have made it our mission to write about these bands and the music scene, giving them a much-needed platform to express themselves. We feature interviews with local musicians, reviews on new albums or singles, and stories about their lives as performers and creatives. We also cover topics related to the industry such as record deals, marketing tips, etc.
